Middle School Youth Ministry (Carpe Diem) at St. Luke’s
Carpe Diem is St. Luke’s ministry to junior high youth in our Raleigh area. It’s all about loving Christ and having a great time doing it. We play crazy games, take awesome trips, have deep conversations, and build lasting relationships. We have regular weekly meetings with monthly fun and outreach opportunities. We have an Adult leadership team that works very hard to Bring Christ to our youth community. If you are looking to get involved, just show up and experience what it means to be a part of our Carpe Diem family.
At Carpe Diem we explore the Catholic faith through the study of Scriptures, the Sacraments, and through our shared experience. We use a curriculum called “EDGE” through LifeTeen which provides lessons on various themes from the Catholic Faith. Each semester is a new theme, which we get to explore in depth and learn how to apply to our lives. Themes include: scripture, prayer, morality, mass, etc. While catechesis and faith formation are part of Carpe Diem, much of what we do is evangelization and pre-catechesis. We introduce Jesus and the Church in new ways in order to let the youth understand how they are still relevant in their lives and relevant in the world today. We do this through community building and service projects along with catechesis.
