The Lector-Reader proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel and leads the parish in hearing and responding to the voice of the Lord during the Mass. The Lector-Reader proclaims the first and/or second readings at Mass. In the absence of a psalmist, they may also recite the Psalm between the readings.
Weekend Mass Lectors-Readers serve approximately 3-5 times per quarter. Advance preparation takes approximately 1 hour during the week in which the lector will serve.
Daily Mass Lector/Readers check in at the Sacrity before Mass to see if there
is a need.
