Baptized Catholic Child Preparing for 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist.
All children preparing for their sacraments must be enrolled in Elementary Faith Formation. Preparation is a two year process that begins in 1st grade with general catechesis and finishes in 2nd grade with sacramental specific catechesis. All first graders should be enrolled if they intend to receive their sacraments in 2nd grade.
Baptized Catholic Youth Preparing for Confirmation
For youth who have already received reconciliation and Eucharist, preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation takes place in 9th and 10th grade. All youth in preparation must be enrolled in youth group (Vita Nova). Youth attend Vita Nova in 9th and 10th grade, then attend Confirmation specific classes in 10th grade. There are two mandatory retreats, one in each year.
Baptized Catholic Adult Preparing for 1st Reconciliation, 1st Eucharist AND/OR Confirmation
Any baptized Catholic Adult that needs other sacraments will typically join the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults process. The RCIA is a process of spiritual growth and learning about Catholicism. Through the RCIA, you are invited to enter into a relationship with God and the Church. Baptized Christian Preparing to Enter the Catholic Church
Adults who are baptized in another faith tradition who are interested in becoming Catholic will join the Catholic Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). The RCIA is a process of spiritual growth and learning about Catholicism. Through the RCIA, you are invited to enter into a relationship with God and the Church. If you are already baptized and want to become Catholic, you will prepare for your Confirmation and 1st Eucharist. You will receive your 1st Reconciliation during this preparation as well. Unbaptized Person Preparing to Enter the Catholic Church
Adults who have not been baptized will join the Catholic Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). The RCIA is a process of spiritual growth and learning about Catholicism. Through the RCIA, you are invited to enter into a relationship with God and the Church. Those who go through the RCIA and wish to become Christians are baptized. You will also prepare for your Confirmation and 1st Eucharist. You will receive your 1st Reconciliation during this preparation. Contact Rebecca in our parish office to join RCIA.
