Youth ministry is incredibly important here at St. Luke’s. We strive to provide the best programming, events, and retreats available to our youth. We have built the program to follow the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops’ document “Renewing the Vision” which incorporates the eight components of youth ministry: Advocacy, Catechesis, Community Life, Evangelization, Justice and Service, Leadership Development, Pastoral Care, and Prayer and Worship. Therefore we provide catechesis and evangelization through our weekly sessions, opportunities to participate as liturgical ministers, service projects both within and outside our church, as well as social and spiritual retreats and events.
Our philosophy is that a strong middle school youth group will lead to a stronger high school youth group. Therefore, we provide solid middle school events and activities to evangelize and build community amongst our middle schoolers (Carpe Diem). We have lock-ins, day trips, and service projects for the middle school youth group. In the high school group (Vita Nova) we offer even more opportunities for community building and spiritual formation through numerous retreats, social events, service projects, and mission trips. We also attend Diocesan events with both groups.
